Acceptance is a process. I think i wrote that before. What i know understand about that starts with a feeling like a slow motion waves gently slamming into me, from the front usually and from the soles of me feet to above my head.
steps to accepting something possibly unpleasant to body-mind:
almost sounds like [Accepting Axiety]
this is a hybrid post... acceptance is what i started to write about, anxiety became the canvas upon which to explore that.
acceptance = practice surrendering = one time all in action
this is about coping w/ anxiety the Accepting vibe is different.
[EDIT THIS all together correctly]
- minute one
- notice its arrival
- if safe enough, assess immediate situation and intentionally breathe in and out
- continue breathing.
-
minutes two-five
- find your hands, shoulders and legs, assess their energy levels
- if jittery, try to walk
- orient yourself to the space.
- orient yourself to what you need to do in the immediate next few minutes
- try to slow everything down
-
keep looking around to measure the actual (vs perceived!) risk of the present moment
-
continue breathing
- locate your feet
- envision yourself grounding, in detail
- place your hands on your thighs if sitting, by your sides if standing, or whevever feels most stable for you
- find your hands, shoulders and legs, assess their energy levels
